I’ve learned the concept of conducting as a way to paint with sound. After spending hours practicing how to wave my arm in front of a wall to “imitate this painting technique”, I decided to experiment what that would be like if I actually did it.

Both painting and music had been part of my practice, yet I had never thought of integrating them. For my final thesis, I chose four pieces from my repertoire to create visual scores. These works were exhibited at the Gretchen C. Valade Jazz Center in Detroit.
